Sean Penn, best known as an actor, has announced his plan to recuse himself from the movie industry. Penn is also a writer, journalist, and interviewer. He has worked closely with some of the most controversial names in the world as an interviewer. He has interviewed polarizing former Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and Cuban President Raul Castro. Sean Penn made headlines a few years ago when he sat down with one of the most dangerous men on the planet, Joaquin Guzman, also known as El Chapo the boss of the Sinaloa Cartel.

Sean Penn has denounced his role as an actor in favor of becoming an author. His first novel is called Bob honey who just do stuff and is a comedic dystopian novel about a septic tank salesman who moonlights as an assassin for the United States government. The book has critics on both side of the isle. One one hand, the New York Times called the book a riddle that is cloaked in crazy. Others are telling Penn to not quit his day job. Sean Penn sat down for a discussion about the the book, Bob honey who just do stuff.

At his home in L.A., just before heading out to Austin to continue his bookstore, Sean Penn sat down for an over the phone interview with Vogue. Penn described the differences between promoting a book and a movie. Sean Penn said that if a movie doesn’t turn out how you wanted, it can be the fault of many people. Movies can run into trouble in production, editing, and filming, but if a book is bad there is only one person at fault. “I like standing on something that’s all mine,” Sean Penn said.
