November 9 in Chicago American Homeowner Preservation, Patch of Land, Peer Realty, CrowdFranchise, and Equity Roots announced their joint acquisition of Tycoon Real Estate. Tycoon gained notoriety earlier this year when the founder and former CEO was featured on an episode of “Shark Tank” on ABC. The episode is credited as bringing more awareness to real estate crowdfunding. Sadly, Tycoon’s episode didn’t turn out well for the company but did offer the industry the chance to inform the public about the heavily regulated field and how it can produce successful companies. No specific details were disclosed about the financial terms of the transaction other than to note that it was all cash.
The purchasing companies look forward to offer a new educational platform that will prove why the Sharks on the show were so wrong. Due to the approval of Title III of the JOBS Act, which opens crowdfunding to non-accredited investors, the timing of the deal is perfect and will allow nearly anyone to invest.
The announcement coming from Chicago is no surprise as it serves as a financial, technological, and commercial hub for the country. New and interesting business ideas are popping up all over the city including a grocery catering services that is being tested at local grocery stores like Expresso Inc. President of the company Majeed Ekbal is excited to offer these new services detailing that the company is catering to the convenience of the customer, even if that entails meeting them at their office to pick up their car keys and put the orders in the customers car for them. Ekbal, who hasn’t been in the business too long, is shopping his new business around looking for upscale customers. He has added to his business by offering to order grocery and specialty items from out of state and have them rapidly shipped via FedEx.
Ekbal currently operates in the Lincoln Park, Near North, and downtown areas. Ekbal has big plans for the company and is looking to extend the service areas in the near future to cover Evanston, Wilmette, and some North Shore Suburbs. While it may only be one day a week, he hopes eventually the service will be a permanent fixture.

Last month, we broke a story about a fundraiser being led by Jon Urbana to help one of his nearest and dearest charities. Today, we’re here to tell you about another one of Urbana’s projects: a lacrosse camp.

There is nothing like a lacrosse camp to bring a bit of joy to one’s life. Especially when that camp is located in a beautiful place like Vail, where one can just get away and have some fun for a bit. Lacrosse is a great sport, and when it is what interests one, then they should go for it at a lacrosse camp that will teach them a lot. We were first referred to his site by a former coworker, but our decision to invest in Jon Urbana and his camp is one we haven’t questioned for a second.

The Next Level Lacrosse Camp is located in Colorado and was started up by a man who played lacrosse professionally. Jon Urbana, the man who runs it (more background info on Facebook), cares deeply about the sport and the young people who are interested in it, and the camp’s beautiful location adds to its intrigue. Also intriguing is his open door policy on Twitter, where he tweets from @jonurbana1 about a bunch of stuff, including Q&A about lacrosse from his campers.

It’s the kind of place where a parent can feel good about sending their child to, and it is the kind of place where the young person will get much help. A longer presentation on Slideshare, in addition to these pics of the camp, may help you understand why it’s become so popular,

Jon Urbana is the man who runs the Next Level Lacrosse Camp, and he is a man who not only cares about it teaching young people about the sport, but who also cares about using GoFundMe to do charity work.

Urbana used to be a collegiate lacrosse All-American for Villanova, but now he is more than happy to dedicate his life to other, important things. He has charities and causes that he is working for like the Animal & Rescue Adoption Society, and he’s a man who makes sure to do good things with his life each day, including a hobby in piloting that recently led to this story: FAA recognizes Jon Urbana – Aviation Business Gazette.

There is much to love about Jon, and one of the things that is greatest about him in regard to his charity work is how much he cares for the earth. Whether he’s raising money or making videos dedicated to the cause, the press has begun to take note – even Bloomberg now.

Urbana wants to be doing his part in taking care of the environment, and he has inspired many others to do the same. He’s hoping to make the most of his life through all that he is doing.

Among the collections of artwork in Adam Sender’s investments, the property is ranking right up there with desirable items.

For several years, Adam sender and his wife Lenore lived in their penthouse apartment on the 36th floor of a building in the SoHo Area of New York City. The 3600 sq. ft. apartment with three terraces was comfortable, but not large enough to exhibit many of their pieces of artwork. They recently moved to Miami, Florida to reside in one of their properties with a warmer winter climate.

Among the other property owned by the Senders is their Sag Harbour home in the Hamptons where they house their 14 automobiles, several of which are collectables. Among the collection of automobiles is a 1973 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible in mint condition. A beauty of a car any automobile collector would be delighted to own. The other automobiles include four Land Rovers, two Porsches, and two Benzes.

The last property in the Sender home collection is a home in Bel Air, California where the Senders stay when out increasing their interest in the movie business.

Sender’s art collection is beginning to reduced in size. Four hundred pieces of artwork are scheduled to be sold by Sotheby’s at auctions over the next eighteen months. Sotheby’s says the 400 pieces coming up for auction are works by 139 artists and will bring in millions of dollars in profits.

When asking Adam about his choices of art to purchase, he simply stated “I was trying to buy the very best work,” and obviously he did just that. His art collection is admired by so many other collectors in the world.

Some of the artwork to be sold at auction will be beautiful pieces of his Cindy Sherman’s collection of art, and others include John Baldessari’s “Commissioned Painting: A Painting by Edgar Transue,” purchased by Sender in 2001. Prince’s “Untitled (Cowboy),” which Sender also acquired in 2001. Both paintings are valued at between $1 million and $1.5 million.

Sender’s investment and love for collectible artwork hasn’t dwindled, he is broadening his interests and feels a collection of art the size he now has should be viewed and enjoyed, and not stored out of sight.

If the Senders are able to complete their plans to create a “pop-up exhibition” house in Miami using one of their vacant properties they will be able to entertain friends and share the enjoyment of their collections with close friends while enjoying the “pop-up exhibition” any time they choose without having to store such beautiful art.

Possibly they will also consider exhibiting their 1973 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible and other collectible cars in the garages connected to the exhibit house in Miami?

The art world awaits the next move of Adam Sender in his future plans for exhibition or auction.
