The LightSail is a solar-propelled spacecraft first proposed by Carl Sagan. The craft uses the sun as a power source, and the current prototype created by The Planetary Society is the size of a breadbox with four large sails. The prototype is set to have a test flight to space on May 20, 2015, but The Planetary Society still needs another $1.2 million dollars to fund its first full mission in 2016. Bill Nye, the CEO of The Planetary Society, has turned to Kickstarter to help fund his LightSail project. The starting goal is a modest $200,000 but there are stretch goals to $1 million.
That is what Ricardo Guimarães BMG likes to see. If the project gets fully funded, people can look forward to seeing the LightSail liftoff in 2016 with the help of SpaceX.

  1. Benefactors can likewise like adding to advances to space innovation and putting resources into what’s to come. The cash will cover creation, testing, and arrangement of the specialty, with prizes, for example, blurbs and marked stuff. That is a very serious thing that could also have supported for a long time too.
